How To Wash A Car... Lexi Style...

Today was car washing day...

But Lexi had ideas of her own... there were other things that were more dirtier than Mom's car...

Like say... the cat!
"Hold still Smokey, this won't hurt a bit"

"Good Kitty"

Lexi thanks Smokey for being a good sport...

But it was time to move on, Big Sis had to show her the bubbles in the bucket...

So maybe she'll help wash the car after all...

But the bubbles feel so good!

I wonder what they taste like?

Maybe if I look clean, Mom won't make me take a bath tonight...

Scrub-a-dub-dub...
Wait, I missed a spot... ah, there.

OK, now I've had enough.

"I promise Mom, I didn't put all those bubbles in Lexi's hair"

Not only did I get a clean car out of this, but a half clean kid too!

Water Play

We are out of routine already at the beginning of summer.  Normally we'd already have visited the pool numerous times, but no, this is only our second visit to the neighborhood pool.  Why?  Just read my previous post.  Anyways... Alex is always hammin it up for the camera.  Plus, I got a new camera which must be broke in right?

Another hamming going on here

Finally, Lexi enjoys the water, last summer wasn't fun... we love the pool and being outside, but she did NOT and she let us know it.

Big Sis playing with Little Sis

I suppose Beth has the hamming it up to the camera bug too, and yes, they enjoy playing in the kiddie pool, go figure.

Almost time to go, Lexi entertaining herself poolside

Alex's Photo Shoot...

The world as Alex sees it...

Notice the beautiful lines... such imagination. :)

There's like 400 more of these.  I found a steal of a deal at a local liquidation outlet.  A Vtech camera for kids for $2.50 and Alex went wild with it.

Smarter Than Your Average Bear...

Alex and Lexi love to play with the doodle pad.  Here they are showing off their smarts.

Alex has just amazed me.  He's 4 and there are so many things he can spell by himself.  He's basically taught himself to read just by memorizing words on signs and things.  There are eight kids and he can spell all their names as well as his own.  Granted, some of the letters are shaped alittle strange like his x and e's.  But he's a smart little sucker.  He already knows all his color words.  He even knows how to drive, he's a horrible backseat driver.  "Mom, why are you slowing down?" or "That's not the way"

We are currently working on adding and subtracting.  He can do it if I talk him through, but write it down and he thinks I'm drawing crosses.  Haha.  He also informed me that he prays at his school and that we need to pray too.  Too cute!

There's A New TuTu On The Block...

I finally finished Lexi's birthday tutu.  Alex was kind enough to hold it up for all to see.  I asked him if he was bothered by holding a girl's tutu and his reply was "Mom, I like trains, not tutu's"  I guess you'd say he's definately comfortable in his skin.   Anyway, here's a blurry version of the tutu.
And here's a little better picture... but because it's on a hanger it makes it look kind of funky.
And I also must point out these rainboots that have been on his feet everyday since I got them...

Hanging With Daddy In The Garage...

On Daddy's days off and any spare time he has, this is usually where you can find him. So basically the only way to socialize with him is to invade his space. So that's just exactly what Alex & Lexi did. Daddy is definately a Man's Man. And our garage is *HIS* space. Which is fine with me because garages are just dirty!
Lexi is fascinated with Daddy's toys... I'm worried. I wanted atleast one girl who was into the girly things. So I guess I'll have a prissy little girl riding dirt bikes with hot pink hairbows in her hair! And let's not forget the matching hot pink nails!

Trip Down Memory Lane...

Thinking about Lexi turning one in two months made me emotional... I started sifting through our photos and it brought back so many memories for me, especially when the older kids were little. When you have different age groups growing up together you tend to forget the cute little things that the older ones did, or that could just be because I have too many kids.

I ran across this cute Easter picture of Matt & Amber. Adorable! Matt was 4 and Amber was 2.

Matt's first birthday... I still think he was way too gorgeous to have been a boy.

Alex's first Santa picture... he doesn't look too happy about it.

I didn't meet these sweet kids until Alyssa was 5 and Megan was 7 and Allen 14. This is Megan's 4th birthday. Look how much everyone has grown!
Daddy and his sweet girls.
Our first Christmas as a family... can't believed I paid $5 for this stinky picture of a bored Santa. This was in 2004. Amber is 9 here, Megan 7, Bethany 6 and Alyssa 5.

Bethany with a much smilier (if that's even a word) Santa. Beth was 8.
Then I ran across this one, Megan and Alyssa. I'm not sure how old they were here, the imprint on the back says 2000. I look at Alyssa and I think about the resemblence of her and Alex.

Our first vacation with Alex and Lexi... she hardly had any hair!

Me and my hunk! 2004

When I married the love of my life... November 2004
Matt 11, Amber 9 and Beth 5. A little getaway with my kids that I drug Scott along. Close to when we first met.
Alex's 2nd birthday.

Alex 20 months.

My New Toy...

I treated myself to a new camera and photo software thanks to good ole Uncle Sam... so the snow provided new ideas for me and also an excuse to play with my camera.

The kids enjoyed some hot cocoa after playing in the snow

Trying out my Macro Lens... ice on the suburban

Alex was disapointed to find out you can't make snow angels in ice/snow
